How are those birds chaffinches?! My instruction to AI was: A woman with white, pixie-cut hair and big black-framed glasses. She is sitting at a desk, typing at a computer. She is distracted, looking out the window at rain and chaffinches flying around the trees.

A significantly less exciting day than yesterday on every level, though Chris has just finished reading my book, which is exciting. He’s given me some invaluable insights and comments, which I’ll think about in the coming days. It felt good that he seems to have genuinely enjoyed it, and not just because I wrote it.

He highlighted a few things he was uncertain about, but which I thought were obvious. I’ll have a think about those points too, of course.

Other than thinking about his comments, I've started version 7, which I'm almost halfway through. I realise that I need to rewrite chapter 2. It's too long and not exciting enough for a chapter that agents will read when I submit the first three chapters.

In other news, it rained on and off all day, I didn’t sleep as well in my cabin last night as the night before, I baked a sourdough loaf that came out well and which was delicious warm with butter and Cheddar for lunch. I did a few chores and that feels like the extent of my day, sigh.
